Looking Without Hurry: A Contemporary Art Laboratory for Children is a project developed by the Laboratory for Art + Education (LA+E), a collective formed by Cristina Ochoa Ochoa, Noyule Dominique Jonard, and José Luis Arroyo-Robles, whose practice explores the intersection of contemporary art, pedagogy, and collaborative processes.

The project begins with a simple question: What happens when children are given the time, the tools, and the freedom to look at the world through their own interests? Rather than treating them as recipients of cultural content, the laboratory recognizes children as active participants capable of asking questions, developing interpretations, and building new relationships with the places they inhabit.

Each edition combines methodologies drawn from contemporary art, artistic mediation, educational curating, and art education. Every session is built around pedagogical tools designed specifically for its context, encouraging experimentation, play, conversation, and collective making as forms of shared inquiry.

Rather than teaching children about art, Mirar sin prisa creates the conditions for them to discover new ways of engaging with images, materials, landscapes, and their communities. The project understands art as a practice of attention and pedagogy as a form of collective creation in which every participant contributes to imagining new ways of inhabiting the world.

Mirar sin prisa: Laboratorio de arte contemporáneo para niñxs es un proyecto desarrollado por el Laboratorio Arte + Educación (LA+E), colectivo integrado por Cristina Ochoa Ochoa, Noyule Dominique Jonard y José Luis Arroyo-Robles, que investiga la relación entre arte contemporáneo, pedagogía y territorio a través de procesos colaborativos.

El proyecto parte de una pregunta sencilla: ¿qué sucede cuando las infancias cuentan con el tiempo, las herramientas y la libertad para mirar el mundo desde sus propios intereses? Lejos de entenderlas como receptoras de contenidos culturales, el laboratorio las reconoce como personas capaces de formular preguntas, construir interpretaciones y establecer nuevas relaciones con el territorio que habitan.

Cada edición integra herramientas provenientes del arte contemporáneo, la mediación artística, la curaduría educativa y la educación artística. Las sesiones se articulan mediante dispositivos pedagógicos diseñados específicamente para cada contexto, favoreciendo la experimentación, el juego, la conversación y el trabajo colectivo como formas de investigación compartida.

Más que enseñar sobre arte, Mirar sin prisa crea las condiciones para que niñas y niños descubran otras maneras de relacionarse con las imágenes, los materiales, el paisaje y su comunidad. El proyecto entiende el arte como una práctica de atención y la pedagogía como una forma de creación colectiva, donde cada participante contribuye a imaginar nuevas maneras de habitar el mundo.
